My beat covers the LGBTQ+ community in rural Ohio. It's a one-of-a-kind beat that gives me access to a community underrepresented by both where they live and how they love or identify.
I attended Central Michigan University and graduated in 2023 with a bachelors in history and journalism. I first got my start in publishing journalism at Central Michigan Life, the student newspaper. Later, I joined WCMU Public Media as a student reporter where I developed my audio skills. Both of those experiences led me to my first full-time position as an education reporter at the Midland Daily News.
Through Report for America, I helped kick-start Lakewood High School's student podcast, The Archives.
